HIMAKA as a semi-professional institution that aims to be able to overshadow the opinions and creativity of students as well as for scientific development for students, and to channel all opinions and activities in their science. The Department of Information and Library Science, which is now the Information and Library Science Study Program, was established in October 1985, and at the 2004 MUBES, 1 October 1985 was set as the date for the establishment of HIMAKA.
