Launching of the 2025 HMPSI Trinada Cabinet and Pasakarsa Parliament

Jatinangor—Monday, April 14, 2025. The Library and Information Science Student Association (HMPSI) of Fikom, Unpad, held the official Launching of the Trinada Cabinet & Pasakarsa Parliament at Bale Santika, Universitas Padjadjaran. This event marked the beginning of the 2025 HMPSI administrative term.

The launching was not only an occasion to introduce the new organizational structure but also a space to strengthen the spirit of collaboration. The event was attended by various external parties, including representatives from other student associations and student activity units at Fikom, Unpad.

The series of events began with speeches from several key figures: Rizqi Lukmanul Hakim, the Head of HMPSI’s Daily Management Board (BPH); Cindy Amelia Putri, the Head of HMPSI’s Student Representative Board (BPA); David Mei Setiyawan, the Head of the Fikom Student Executive Board (BEM); Mr. Prijana, M.Si., the HMPSI Advisor; and Dr. Rd. Funny Mustikasari Elita, M.Si., the Head of the Library and Information Science Study Program. All five speakers shared their hopes for HMPSI’s future as it begins its new term.

During the launching, a brief history of the organization was also shared. HMPSI, formerly known as Himaka, had been established on October 1, 1985. It officially underwent a rebranding to HMPSI at the Extraordinary Deliberation (MLB) held on March 8, 2025. This change was made to align the association’s identity with the current academic direction and name of the study program, namely Library and Information Science.

The name change was also highlighted by David Mei Setiyawan in his speech. He praised the rebranding as a “spectacular start-of-the-year breakthrough” and expressed hope that this change would be a starting point for more innovations in the future, as well as open up broader collaborative opportunities for HMPSI with external parties.

This year, the HMPSI BPH operates under the cabinet name ‘Trinada’, which means a chord formed by three different notes that, when combined, produce beautiful harmony. In line with this name, Rizqi Lukmanul Hakim, as the Head of the HMPSI BPH, expressed his hope that the Trinada Cabinet would serve as a bridge between the three key aspects of the study program: students (‘greeners’), alumni, and the program’s faculty, thus creating a beautiful and harmonious unity.

Furthermore, the legislative structure was introduced in the form of the BPA Pasakarsa ParliamentPasa symbolizes a chain, representing the strong bond of mutual support among members, while Karsa reflects the power and spirit that drives each individual to have the will and to act for a common goal. Therefore, Pasakarsa embodies a profound philosophy of the strength of the soul, closely tied to values of togetherness and commitment. With this name, it is hoped that Pasakarsa will be committed to supervising, evaluating, and serving as a platform for the aspirations of PSI students, in line with one of its missions: to improve constructive cooperation and communication with the BPH, the study program, and all components of student organizations.

The event continued with a presentation of the daily management board (BPH) and student representative board (BPA) agendas and work programs for the upcoming year. Currently, HMPSI consists of 82 BPH members and 30 BPA members who are ready to actively contribute and fulfill their roles within the dynamics of the organization.

The event concluded on a high note with a musical performance by the internal PSI band, TriPSI. They performed several songs as a form of entertainment and celebration of this new beginning for the HMPSI Trinada Cabinet and Pasakarsa Parliament.
