Study and Academic Department of Himaka, in collaboration with BEM KEMA Fikom Unpad, held the Liblicious 2023 Webinar online on Friday (12/05/2023) with the theme Eradication of Digital Violence: Media Literacy as Prevention of Digital Violence – (Eradication of Digital Violence: Media Literacy as Prevention of Digital Violence). More than 150 participants, including students, educators, and the general public, attended this webinar. This webinar presented two speakers, Nuning Kurniasih, S.Sos., M.Hum, (Lecturer in Fikom at Universitas Padjadjaran) and Santi Indra Astuti, S.Sos., M.Si. (Lecturer in Fikom Bandung Islamic University and Co-Founder of JAPELIDI).
The first presentation by Santi Indra Astuti, S.Sos., M.Si., conveyed several essential points related to media literacy, such as the meaning of media literacy and the function and importance of media literacy in today’s digital era. The relationship between media literacy and social media, the role of media literacy in preventing cases of impersonation and spoofing, and her views on the media literacy skills of the younger generation in using social media. The second speaker, Nuning Kurniasih, S.Sos., M.Hum., delivered material about the meaning and differences between impersonation and spoofing. Examples of cases of impersonation and spoofing and the impact of impersonation and spoofing. Tips and tricks to prevent impersonation and spoofing in the digital era, and her views on the younger generation in preventing cases of rife impersonation and spoofing.
This event aims to increase public awareness regarding the prevention of impersonation and spoofing in the digital era with capabilities in the digital era, especially among the younger generation, to prevent impersonation and spoofing that occur in the digital era with media literacy skills. It is so that the victims of impersonation and spoofing can be minimized, and the crime of impersonation and spoofing will not become more widespread.
Liblicious itself is a forum for young Indonesians who aim to train their ability to think critically, creatively, analytically, constructively, and responsive to actual issues that are currently developing, especially regarding cases that are happening in their surroundings. Holding the Liblicious 2023 webinar, hopefully, it will make the public aware of the negative effects of impersonation and spoofing in the digital era.
