Bandung-November 24, 2024. Students from the Library and Information Science Study Program, Hakuna Matata Group, hold the “Storytelling Theater” activity in collaboration with the Eureka Cileunyi Reading House. This program was the final semester exam assignment for the Public Relations Course at the Institute of Information, which combined theater arts and a love of books. This activity supports Rumah Baca Eureka in improving literacy in children and building community through a love of reading and storytelling. Through this activity, Rumah Baca Eureka is a reference point for creative and inspiring literacy activities.
Mustika Agustina and Najwa Syifa Risyaputri were Master of Ceremony the series of “Storytelling Theater” activities. The event began with remarks from Silvi Karimatullail as Project Officer, Muri Iryanti as manager of Rumah Baca Eureka, Dr. Elnovani Lusiana, S.Sos., M.Si. as a lecturer in Public Relations for Information Institutions, and Mrs. Eli Liawati as the head of The Rukun Warga 22 Cileunyi Kulon.
Storytelling Theater was attended by 44 children aged 4-10 years old. The Hakuna Matata Group presented a story titled “Murai Bintik” from the collection from Eureka Community Reading Park , performed by Marsya Rahima and Ilaya Amala Akbar. This theater performance brought the book’s story to life and fostered the children’s interest in storybooks.
The “Storytelling Theater: Hakuna Matata x Rumah Baca Eureka” event, with its slogan “Open Books, Open Knowledge,” was managed by all members of the Hakuna Matata group, consisting of Silvi Karimatullail, Erai Tsabbita Pranastia, Cindy Amelia Putri, Khansa Wynonna Wijayakusumah, Malika Aulia Iffahanusatya, Syaffa Aulia Putriandini, Dhiyaa Khuzaimah, Mimah Nur Rohimah, Mustika Agustina, Marsya Rahima, Najwa Syifa Risyaputri, Ilaya Amala Akbar, Muti Khairunnisa Faturahman, Dina Amalia Zahra, Dewi Puspa Melati, Nayla Syakira, Khairunisa, and Revalina Sofyan.
This “Storytelling Theater: Hakuna Matata x Rumah Baca Eureka” event successfully provided an enjoyable yet educational literacy experience for children around the Taman Cileunyi Complex. Hopefully, this event can inspire similar literacy activities in the future and establish Rumah Baca Eureka as a creative and inspiring literacy center. Finally, Hakuna Matata extends its gratitude to all parties who contributed to and supported the “Storytelling Theater” event (Dhiyaa Khuzaimah – Hakuna Matata Group).
