Asep Zainal Abidin won 3rd Runner Up place in the Sumedang Regency Reading Ambassador Selection 2023 organized by the Sumedang Regency Reading Ambassador Association under the Dinas Arsip dan Perpustakaan Sumedang Regency on February 28, 2023. After participating in various stages of selection, Asep entered the top 6 and won 3rd Runner Up place.
The selection stage requires participants to submit various administrative requirements such as making resumes of two books, writing papers with the theme All Leaders are Readers, self-profile videos, and other documents. In addition, a series of material debriefings and closed interviews end with a post-test related to knowledge about Sumedang, West Java, Libraries, and Reading Ambassadors. Asep said he was not alone and was assisted by colleagues, friends, and lecturers, “Of course, during the stages, I was not alone but assisted by friends and lecturers in the study program (Library and Information Science Study Program).”
Asep himself is very excited about this competency. He has been interested in literacy since junior high school (SMP). He also hopes that through this event, the knowledge that he has learned during his lectures will not only be for himself but can also be helpful for others around him, “The knowledge I have learned in this study program is not only for me but can also be helpful for others, and hopefully I can add more relationships and experience, “said Asep.
