Jatinangor – On Saturday, March 8, 2025, the 2025 Ad Hoc Team for the Library and Information Science Program at the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran, successfully held an Extraordinary General Assembly (MLB). The event aimed to ratify the 2025 amended Articles of Association and bylaws and to update the identity of Himaka (the Student Association of Library and Information Science). The activity took place at the Fikom Unpad Student Center and was attended by members of the 2025 Ad Hoc Team, active students from the Library and Information Science Program, the Head of the Study Program, and alumni from IKA PSI.

The 2025 Ad Hoc Team for the Library and Information Science Program carried out a series of steps to prepare for the Extraordinary General Assembly (MLB). The Project Officer and Research and Assessment Division conducted in-depth interviews with the Head of the Study Program, the advisor, the Head of IKA PSI, and alumni from the board. The 2025 Ad Hoc Team also held a Socialization Forum for the 2025 amended Articles of Association on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Fikom Heritage, and created a suggestion box to gather proposals for the association’s name, logo, and slogan. Additionally, the Ad Hoc Team collaborated with the 2024 Research, Data, and Analysis Bureau Transition Team to conduct a Rebranding and Identity Strengthening Survey of Himaka Fikom Unpad to collect aspirations from both active students and alumni of the Library and Information Science Program.
The Extraordinary General Assembly (MLB) began with welcoming remarks from the Head of the Library and Information Science Program, Dr. Rd. Hj. Funny Mustikasari Elita, M.Si, followed by a speech from Arbi Meirano M.M., who represented IKA PSI (the Library and Information Science Alumni Association). The event was opened with the reading and ratification of the assembly’s rules of order, followed by the reading and ratification of the agenda by the temporary presidium before being handed over to the three permanent presidium members: Shelvi Nur Awaliyah, Marsya Rahima, and Aghnia Tsabitah.

Next, the Project Officers, Cindy Amelia Putri and Rizqi Lukmanul Hakim, presented the results of the assessment data and proposals for the organization’s identity. This was followed by a voting session for the identity of the Library and Information Science Student Association by full participants, which included three name proposals and two additional proposals from full members, along with three logo proposals and three slogan proposals. After that, a presentation on the Gap Analysis results was held, followed by a forum discussion on the presentation findings. The results of the Extraordinary General Assembly (MLB) concluded with the ratification of the 2025 amended Articles of Association. Based on the voting results, the name of the Student Association of Library and Information Science (Himaka) was officially changed to the Student Association of Library and Information Science (HMPSI), and the slogan “ijo,ijo,ijo” was changed to “We’re Information Specialists.”
The implementation of this Extraordinary General Assembly (MLB) is expected to serve as a moment of leadership regeneration to strengthen the rebranding of the Library and Information Science Student Association’s identity, ensuring it remains relevant and sustainable.
