Jatinangor-Wednesday, December 10, 2025. To introduce the various facilities and services available at the Kandaga Central Library at Padjadjaran University, Class B students of the Library and Information Science (PSI) Study Program, Class B, held the WAKTU (Walk Around Kandaga to Understand) activity on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. The activity included an educational and interactive tour of the library, beginning with an introduction to Kandaga’s e-resources.
The WAKTU activity was initiated as part of the final project for the Public Relations of Information Institutions course, which focuses on event practice. This initiative arose from students’ concern about the underutilization of services and facilities at the Kandaga Central Library by Unpad students. Through this activity, participants were invited to learn more about the collections, service spaces, and digital facilities that support both academic and non-academic needs of students.
The event was attended by 23 participants, with the number deliberately limited to facilitate mobility and group division during the activity. The event was opened by Ms. Emi Normalia, S.AP., the Young Expert Librarian, who delivered remarks and an introduction to the importance of information literacy and the use of Kandaga’s services. Following this, participants participated in an e-resources socialization session that explained various digital collections, such as e-journals, e-books, and institutional repositories, which students can access for free through the Kandaga website.
The library tour was guided by organizers from the PSI Student Public Relations Division. For approximately two hours, participants were invited to explore each floor of the Kandaga Library, from the collection room, reference room, circulation room, to the reading area and multimedia services room. At each point, participants were greeted by library staff who provided detailed explanations of available services and answered questions.
On this occasion, the Head of the Kandaga Central Library Management Office, Dr. Ute Lies Khadijah, expressed her full support for the implementation of the WAKTU program. The tour was also facilitated by librarians such as Ms. Sri Rakhmiyati, S.Sos., M.I.Kom., Ms. Aning Yuningsih, S.Sos., and Ms. Emi Normalia, S.AP., as well as the Kandaga Public Relations team, including Ms. Ziani Marni, S.S.I. and Ms. Naafa Naafiatul Insi, S.S.I., with Ms. Chrisna Adhi Pranoto, S.S.I. as the activity supervisor.
Through this Walk Around Kandaga to Understand (WAKTU) activity, students are expected to gain a deeper understanding of the facilities and services available at the Kandaga Central Library. This activity is also expected to build a positive image of Kandaga as an inclusive information resource center ready to support the academic activities of the Unpad community.
