Library and Information Science of Fikom Unpad Lecturers Publish National Reference Book on Scientific Writing and Publication

Dr. Rully Khairul Anwar, Encang Saepudin, S.S., M.Si., and Evi Nursanti Rukmana, M.I.Kom., lecturers at the Library and Information Science Program (PSI) Fikom Unpad, have published a national reference book titled “Scientific Article Writing and Publication.” The book highlights the importance of scientific writing in academia and provides practical guidance for students, lecturers, and academic staff in preparing, evaluating, and publishing high-quality scholarly work.

Published in 2024, the book is part of Fikom Unpad’s efforts to enhance academic literacy and support the development of competencies among academic communities in producing systematic, relevant, and impactful scientific contributions.

The book addresses the need for practical guidance in writing articles, research reports, modules, proceedings, and other forms of scholarly publications. It emphasizes students’ roles in preparing final projects, theses, and dissertations, as well as lecturers’ roles through the tri dharma of higher education—teaching, research, and community service—in producing meaningful scholarly work. Academic staff, including librarians, laboratory assistants, and administrative personnel, are also guided to produce scientific outputs relevant to their professional roles.

This book underscores that scientific writing serves not only as a documentation of knowledge but also as an instrument to assess academic quality and professional competence. Readers, both students and academic staff, can use the book as a practical guide to develop their scientific writing skills and understand the mechanisms of publication and formal evaluation.

The publication is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 on Quality Education and Goal 9 on Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. By providing practical guidance, the book contributes to enhancing academic literacy, professional competencies, and fostering a strong culture of scientific writing in higher education.
