Bandung, 2024 – The Library of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Padjadjaran has officially launched its Instagram account @fisipunpad.hub as a new innovation for disseminating library services and collections. The initiative is part of a digital transformation program designed to enhance information accessibility for the academic community.
This initiative was developed by a team of researchers from the Library and Information Science Study Program at Padjadjaran University, Nadiah Nurulauni, Dr. Edwin Rizal, and Andri Yanto M.I.Kom, together with the FISIP Library management, with the full support of the faculty leadership. Since 2024, this initiative has been implemented on the Jatinangor campus in response to the need for faster, broader, and more interactive communication.
Previously, library information was mainly distributed through limited print media or messaging applications, which did not effectively reach all students and lecturers. Through the Instagram account, information can now be accessed in real time, covering operational schedules, facilities, service procedures, and tips for accessing digital collections.
The Instagram design was developed through an action research approach that placed users at the center of innovation. This method enables the library to adapt to students’ digital habits and provide services aligned with the needs of the current generation.
The launch of @fisipunpad.hub contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by broadening access to academic resources and strengthening students’ digital literacy. It also advances SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by demonstrating how educational institutions can adopt technology-based innovations to improve services and build inclusive information infrastructure.
With this new platform, the FISIP Unpad Library expands its service reach, increases user engagement, and reinforces its role as a modern knowledge center relevant to the needs of the digital generation.
