Diah Sri Rejeki, a student of the Library and Information Science Program (PSI), Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran, together with supervising lecturers Aminudin and Evi Nursanti Rukmana, has published a scientific article entitled “Design and Development of an Integrated Community Reading Park Information System to Support Educational Tourism in Sumedang Regency.”

The article was published in Community Development Journal: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Universitas Pahlawan, Vol. 5, No. 5, 2024. The study highlights the development of an integrated information system for Community Reading Parks (TBM) in Sumedang Regency to promote literacy while supporting educational tourism initiatives.

The community service project involved needs analysis (pre-survey) conducted online using Google Forms, system design, socialization, training, implementation, mentoring, and monitoring and evaluation. The result was the creation of the website forumtbmsumedang.org, serving as an integrated information system for TBM in Sumedang Regency.

The needs identification addressed challenges faced by TBM managers, such as limited technology, insufficient promotion of educational tourism programs, and manual book collection management. The information system design was tailored to the needs of TBM managers, while socialization and training taught website operation, content management, and effective promotion of educational tourism programs. Direct implementation and mentoring ensured proper system usage, and monitoring and evaluation assessed system effectiveness and its impact on community participation.

The website forumtbmsumedang.org has been successfully implemented, facilitating TBM management and increasing public participation in literacy and educational tourism programs.

This article is relevant to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), emphasizing the importance of digital innovation to support community literacy and the development of community-based educational tourism.
