Jatinagor, November 28, 2022 – Library and Information Science (LIS) Study Program held Latihan Dasar Kepemimpinan Organisasi (LDKO) or Organizational Leadership Basic Training on November 25-26 2022. In total, 100 students from the LIS Study Program of 2021 Generation participated in this event. This event had held at the Moestopo Fikom Unpad Building (3rd floor) from 09.00-14.00 WIB.
Advisor Himaka, Kusnandar, S.Sos., M.I.Kom., said that implementation of the LDKO was the first initial step that will become a reference for the next Himaka Management who expected able to run the organization well. The events have presented by four presenters. The first one is Agus Setiawan, S.Sos., M.I.Kom., the Manager of Learning, Students, and Alumni, who presented Information about Student Affairs at the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Unpad. In his speech, he said that is a need to regularly evaluate the programs by adapting to the situation and increasing achievement in academic and non-academic fields.
Next is Samson CMS, S.Sos., M.I.Kom., who discusses Sundanese-style Communication. He revealed that being on an organization needs to have a basic Sundanese communication theory that consists of silih asah, silih asih, and silih as asuh. Why do we have to study it? “Because we live on Sundanese Land, not on Java or other areas, then like it or not, we need to adapt to Sundanese Culture,” he said in his presentation session.
And there was Fitri Perdana, S.Sos., M.I.Kom., presented Unpad, Fikom, and Library and Information Science Study Program Organizational Structure. She revealed that a university certainly has an organizational structure that needs to get attention from students. And so by that, it can not just be known at the university level but should be known at the faculty and Study Program levels as well.
Muvtizar Solichin, S.IIP., an alumnus of the Library and Information Science Study Program, has also participated in this event and presented about Event Management. Before heading to his speech, he shared a motivation that has brought him to this day. He says, “InsyaAllah, I am ready to help 10 million people to increase their capacity and publish their best work,” which has pushed Muvti to keep him fighting to educate the younger generation. Then he uniquely delivers his speech. It starts with setting the audience with U-Shape and then applying how to make a good and correct proposal. He said that organizations could run well if students focus on planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling.
Apart from that, informants from Himaka (2020), represented by Januar Ilyas and Rianti Adellia Savitri, talked about Organizational Management. Alfi Redzi and Januar Ilyas discussed Secretariat or Letters Stuff. Then Aliyah Yasyfi Saffanah and Hikmatiara Frisca Abrori talk about Management of BPA.
This activity is a Tridharma activity carried out in line with the strategic planning of the university, faculty and in line with the applicable curriculum in the library and information science study program.
