Planting Seeds in Kadakajaya, a Crucial Struggle Against Stunting

In their feature article, the Inar Team highlighted the issue of stunting through the lens of social inequality and the culture of early marriage that is still common in Kadakajaya Village. The team collaborated with Mr. Rohman Gumilar, head of the Bina Kreasi Muda Community Reading Park (TBM) and a cadre for the PKK and Posyandu in Kadakajaya Village, Tanjungsari District, Sumedang Regency.

This feature news piece highlighted the role of the local TBM as an agent of change, encouraging village teenagers to empower themselves and delay marriage for a healthier and more balanced future. The process of creating this feature was not without its challenges. The team had to follow up intensively with sources and directly observe the social realities on the ground—an approach highly relevant to the Library and Information Science discipline, where literacy and community empowerment are the main focus. “We want to show that addressing social issues starts with paying attention to things close to us. Very close,” said a team representative.

An Achievement Reflecting Collaboration and Social Concer

This achievement was made possible by the academic guidance and support of lecturers Evi Nursanti Rukmana, M.I.Kom. (Library and Information Science) and Rinda Aunillah, S.Sos., M.I.Kom. (Journalism), who provided strategic direction in strengthening the manuscript and field observations. As a reward, the team received a national certificate and prize money from the Cominfest committee. This accomplishment proves that the integration of information science, media literacy, and social concern can create meaningful and impactful journalistic work.
