Jatinangor, July 5, 2025. Three students from the Library and Information Science program won first place in the 17th Broadcaster Award competition, held by Radio Ikom UMY in Yogyakarta. The three students are Nizam Maris Fadhil Hisan, Mustika Agustina, and Muhammad Ryananda Yusmana. The competition they participated in was the audio public service announcement (PSA) category for university students across Indonesia. The winners were announced during the Awarding Night event at SMK Negeri 2 Kasihan/SMM Yogyakarta.

In its 17th year, the Broadcaster Award carried the theme “Lantern: The Importance of Literacy in the Digital Technology Era through Broadcasting Media.” It featured five competition categories: news anchor, reporter, audio podcast, radio announcer, and audio public service announcement. The selection process for the Trilis Team included submitting their work, a jury evaluation, the selection of nominees, and the final announcement of the winners. The team’s project focused on the dangers of spreading hoaxes and fake news through Artificial Intelligence (AI). The Trilis Team was supported by Dr. Efi Fadilah, S.Sos., M.Pd. (a lecturer in the Journalism program at Fikom Unpad), who provided guidance on the project’s concept, and by the Radio and Audio Processing Laboratory, which facilitated the audio production.

Through this public service announcement, the Trilis Team aims to share a message and tips on how to always be wary of hoax news and how to filter information, especially that which is created using AI. The Trilis Team hopes that the public will always be wise in using information technology so they do not fall into the trap of becoming victims or perpetrators of misleading news, for their own safety and for the safety of others.
