Jatinangor-Sunday, October 5, 2025. The Library and Information Science Student Association (HMPSI) of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Padjadjaran University, successfully celebrated its 40th anniversary from September to early October 2025. This annual event serves as a crucial opportunity for the PSI academic community to strengthen ties between current students, faculty, and alumni through a series of competitive and inspiring activities.

Pre-Event Activities for the 2025 HMPSI Anniversary

The 2025 HMPSI Anniversary activities were divided into two parts: a pre-event that ran throughout September and the main event on October 5, 2025. These activities were held at various locations within Padjadjaran University, such as the Balsan Futsal Field, the PSI Lecture Hall, the Moestopo Room, and the Fikom Dome. The combination of sports, arts, and academic activities was a distinct highlight of this year’s Anniversary celebration.

The event was led by Pricilla Junisky as Project Officer, accompanied by Emrys Achdie and Azzahra Syakira as Vice Project Officers 1 and 2. Under their coordination, the entire event ran smoothly and lively, thanks to the enthusiasm of the committee and the full support of the PSI Unpad family.

During the pre-event phase, various competitions were held to foster a spirit of sportsmanship and togetherness among students. These included storytelling, photography, futsal, badminton, hayu ulin (a type of wood-based game), and a lecturer talent show, a special attraction this year. Each class competed for the overall championship title and the rotating HMPSI trophy, a symbol of pride for the best participants.

Meanwhile, the main event, held on October 5, 2025, began with a blood drive in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Bandung. This event continued with a prize distribution session, the cutting of a tumpeng (rice cone), and an inspirational talk show with alumni of the Library and Information Science Study Program. The talk show featured various stories of alumni career journeys, providing motivation and new insights for current students.

By holding this 40th anniversary celebration, HMPSI hopes to strengthen solidarity among PSI elements and maintain the collaborative spirit that has become the association’s hallmark. “The anniversary is not just a birthday celebration, but also a form of appreciation for the long journey and togetherness of the PSI family,” stated Pricilla Junisky in her remarks.
