Library and Information Science Study Program Fikom Unpad held Community Service (PPM) activities in Jatigede Sumedang District for two days, namely October 27-28, 2023. There were four activities carried out in four different places, namely at the Jatigede District Office, SDN Cijeungjing 1, SMPN 1 Jatigede, and Village Library / TBM Cijeungjing Suka Ceria. PPM activities at the Village Library / TBM Cijeungjing Suka Ceria were held with Group Discussions (FDG) Forum activities and book submissions, which were held on Saturday (10/28/2023).
This activity was opened by Evi Nursanti Rukaman, M.I.Kom., and continued with remarks from Asep Saeful Rahman, S.Sos, M.I.Kom., and Kusnandar, S.Sos., M.I.Kom., as representatives of Library and Information Science Study Program Fikom Unpad. Then, continued with remarks from the Head of the Library and Asip Office of Sumedang Regency, Hari Tri Santosa, AP., MM.. This activity was attended by the Head of TBM, the Village Head, the TBM Manager, and the Cijeungjing Suka Ceria Village Library / TBM User.
In the FGD session, it was discussed about the great potential for the development of the Cijeungjing Suka Ceria Village Library / TBM in the future. This is because, users who children dominate are quite numerous and very active visiting TBM. In addition, it is expected that TBM can build a short-term activity plan for the next year. Program design that can involve more parties, such as West Java TBM Forum Members or Bandung Regency TBM, to develop community literacy.
This PPM activity ended with the symbolic handover of library collections in the form of books by representatives of the Library and Information Science Study Program and the Head of the Sumedang Regency Library and Archives Office to the Village Library Manager / TBM Cijeungjing Suka Ceria. With the collection of books from the Library and Information Science Study Program, it is hoped that children and TBM users will be more active in utilizing TBM.
