Jatinangor, October 1, 2022, was a special day for Himaka Fikom Unpad, which held Himaka’s 37th Dies Natalis. This year’s Dies Natalis theme is “Baritapraya” an acronym for three words Bara, Harita, and Abhipraya. Baritapraya means the hope of students at Himaka Fikom Unpad to always burn like embers and positively impact the development of the Library and Information Science Study Program and the community around Jatinangor.

According to Rafi Helmi Rabani, as Project Officer (PO) for Himaka’s Dies Natalis 2022, three events will be held this year: pre-event, main event, and post-event. The “Baritapraya Competition or Baricomp” was held at the pre-event and consisted of several competitions. The first one is the Essay Competition (general) was won by Ade Krisna Setiawan from Tidar University as the 1st winner. Then the Podcast Competition (public) was won by Salamatul Hifdiyah from the State Polytechnic of Malang with the topic “Children of Overseas as Tough as Krakatau.” Apart from that, there was also a competition that was participated in by LIS Study Program students both online and offline. The offline competition is divided into two types, including Mixed Doubles Badminton, won by Farhan and Lulu class of 2021. Then The Inter-class Futsal Competition was won by the class of 2018.

Following the next event, the main event was titled “Baritapraya Talkshow (The Bari Talk).” The presentation theme was also interesting, “Librarianship in Various Fields of Work.” There were three presenters at the main event, The Lecturers of the LIS Study Program, Robertus Ilabakh, S.IIP, M.Kom., M.H., as Market Development at Indonesia Stock Exchange and Priatna, M.Sc., M.M., as Head of Data Center and Tempo Analysis. The last event was the post-event and became the closing event for Himaka’s Dies Natalis. With the implementation of “Gathering and Reunion” with the theme “SHINY: See Harmony in 37th Anniversary,” Bale Santika became the venue for the event, held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, around 08.00 – 14.00 WIB. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed because it felt like hanging out. This event was participated by three main elements: Lecturers, Alumni, and students of the LIS Study Program. Live Music Session and Having Lunch Together

Some of the event participants who attended also gave a different impression, such as the Head of the 2022 Class of the Library and Information Science Study Program, Muhammad Sazarwan, a new student, explained, “the event was carried out very nicely, starting from the opening by the MC, followed by sharing the experiences of LIS Study Program alumni and lecturers who are very inspiring and open the knowledge of LIS Study Program students who are still confused about the college they are currently pursuing. The point was that the students who attend will get many things because this event is exciting, insightful, and filling.”

He added, “This event is an extraordinary event. Why is it called extraordinary? Because this event presents Lecturer, Alumni, and Students as one, which rarely happens.” Then, he also conveyed the purpose of the Gathering and Reunion event, “The aim is to build the collaboration between LIS Study Program, Alumni, and Himaka again, even though that has already happened. For example, at the initial level, after an alumnus said his job field was in IT, suddenly, a student came to him and said that he was interested in IT too. We wanted this scene from this event, and it happened.”

Robby Herziansyah, S.IIP alumni of the 2004 Library and Information Science Study Program, also participated and gave a message at this event, “Firstly, I appreciate the LIS Study Program, to several alumni who attended, then my fellow students, especially Himaka, who has to be the executor. I think this is a good point, yes. For all of our continuity in the future, the synergy between LIS Study Program, Alumni, and student associations. So I appreciate it because this momentum must be continued again so that we can bond with students and Himaka.” He also gave a message to students of the Library and Information Science Study Program to get to know alumni better so they can share their experiences when college or the working world further so that students have the knowledge and a broad picture before graduating.

This activity is a Tridharma activity carried out in line with the strategic planning of the university, faculty and in line with the applicable curriculum in the library and information science study program.
