Salsabila Putri Arini, a student of the Library and Information Science Program at the Faculty of Communication Science, Universitas Padjadjaran, has written a scientific article entitled “Circulation Services in Academic Libraries in the Google Scholar Database: A Narrative Literature Review.” This publication was supervised by lecturers Rully Khairul Anwar, Siti Chaerani Djen Amar, and Evi Nursanti Rukmana.

The article was officially published in December 2024 in LIBRIA: Library of UIN Ar-Raniry, Vol. 16, No. 2. The writing discusses circulation services in academic libraries, including member registration, borrowing, returning, loan extensions, and statistical recording. The focus of the article is to analyze the role of librarians and innovations in circulation services within higher education libraries.

The study employed a narrative literature review method, examining five references from the Google Scholar database within the 2013–2023 timeframe. The findings highlight several challenges in circulation services at universities, such as limited budgets, human resources, suboptimal information systems and technology, user behavior, and management issues.

The article emphasizes that librarians play a crucial role in managing, operating, and developing circulation service information systems. It also underscores the importance of innovation and collaboration in circulation services, with careful consideration of costs, the utilization of technology, and regular evaluations to measure effectiveness.

This article aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), emphasizing the role of libraries in supporting quality education and advancing technology-based services.
