National Deliberation and Plenary Session of APTIPI 2025

Jatinangor – Friday, October 31, 2025. Held at the Auditorium of the Post-Graduate Building of the Faculty of Communication Science, Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad), the National Deliberation (Munas) and Plenary Session of the Association of Indonesian Higher Education Providers in Library and Information Science (APTIPI) 2025 were successfully conducted. Carrying the theme, “Developments in Library Science, Information Science, and Archival Studies in Indonesia: Integration of Curriculum, Naming, Learning Outcomes, and Accreditation,” the event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Communication Science, the Chairman and Management of APTIPI, Heads of Library Study Programs and Lecturers from all over Indonesia, and representatives of accreditation bodies.

The event was opened by Fitri Perdana, M.I.Kom. and Belva Talitha Nesuva, followed by remarks from the Chairman of APTIPI, Muhammad Prabu Wibowo, S.Hum., M.S., Ph.D., who emphasized the importance of adapting the curriculum and new nomenclature in the world of education. The Dean of Fikom Unpad, Prof. Dr. Dadang Rahmat Hidayat, S.Sos., S.H., M.Si., officially opened the event and highlighted the crucial role of accreditation in ensuring the quality of higher education. After the presentation of award plaques, the activities continued with a joint prayer and a musical performance by Rachel Alifya and Aldi, which added to the festive atmosphere of togetherness.

In the first seminar session, moderated by Muhammad Prabu Wibowo, S.Hum., M.S., Ph.D., Prof. Dr. Drs. Jonner Hasugian, M.Si. and Dr. Rd. Hj. Funny Mustikasari Elita, M.Si. were also present, discussing the dynamics of the Independent Accreditation Agency (LAM) in the humanities and social sciences cluster. The second session, moderated by Hendro Margono, S.Sos., M.Sc., Ph.D., featured Prof. Dr. Laksmi, S.S., M.A. and Prof. Dr. Rahman Mulyawan, Drs., M.Si., who discussed the roadmap for the Library and Information Science curriculum, as well as the importance of integrating archival aspects into higher education. This was accompanied by additional information from Wien Muldian, S.I.Pust., President of the Indonesian Association of Library and Information Science Scholars (ISIPII) & Manager of the Baca Di Tebet Library.

After the seminar, the event continued with the APTIPI Plenary Session 2025, led by Mr. Muhammad Prabu Wibowo, S.Hum., M.S., Ph.D., and Hendro Margono, S.Sos., M.Sc., Ph.D., from 1:30 PM to 4:40 PM WIB. This session served as an important forum to evaluate APTIPI’s work program for the 2024–2025 period, as well as to discuss cooperation plans and input from members for improving academic quality, human resource development, and curriculum innovation.

Meanwhile, the Second Plenary Session focused on discussing and determining the work programs of each commission for the next period. APTIPI has eight active commissions, namely:

  • Commission on Education and Curriculum for Diploma Programs (D3/D4)
  • Commission on Education and Curriculum for Undergraduate Programs (S1)
  • Commission on Education and Curriculum for Post-Graduate Programs (S2/S3)
  • Commission on Academic Quality Assurance and Accreditation
  • Commission on Research and Scientific Publication
  • Commission on Human Resources (Development and Career of APTIPI Lecturers)
  • Commission on Community Empowerment
  • Commission on Cooperation and Public Relations

Each commission plays a vital role in setting the strategic policy direction for APTIPI going forward. Through productive discussions, the plenary session resulted in a number of decisions that will guide the organization’s future work program development. The session also reaffirmed APTIPI’s commitment to continuously strengthen the synergy among academics, practitioners, and stakeholders, aiming to improve the quality of higher education in the field of Library and Information Science in Indonesia.

Overall, the APTIPI National Deliberation (Munas) and Plenary Session 2025 served as an important platform for strengthening collective commitment, expanding cooperation networks, and formulating strategies for developing superior and relevant higher education in the information age. Through this forum, APTIPI is expected to continue playing an active role in driving curriculum innovation, improving the quality of human resources, and strengthening the strategic position of Library and Information Science at both the national and global levels.
