Jakarta, December 11, 2024 – The Selection Committee for Senior and Junior Officials of the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia (Perpusnas) has completed a series of selection activities held from Monday, December 9, to Wednesday, December 11, 2024. The selection process was conducted openly and transparently at the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia office in Jakarta. One of the interviewers in this activity was Prof. Dr. Agus Rusmana, M.A., who was tasked with providing an objective assessment of the candidates.
The main objective of this open selection was to choose the best candidates to fill strategic positions at Perpusnas. This process reflects Perpusnas’s commitment to recruiting top talent in librarianship and management. In accordance with the Minister of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Regulation No. 15 of 2019, this open selection is an important step to ensure competent and high-integrity leadership.
The three-day selection process involved several stages. In the initial stage, participants were asked to present their portfolios. These portfolios contained the track record, experience, and professional achievements of each candidate. The selection committee then studied and evaluated these portfolios.
The second stage was an article writing exercise. All participants were required to write a scientific or professional article on the same day. This article served as an assessment tool to measure the candidates’ analytical skills, strategic thinking, and writing abilities. The articles were rigorously evaluated by the selection committee to ensure objectivity.
The final and most crucial stage was the interview. During this session, Prof. Dr. Agus Rusmana, M.A., and other members of the selection committee directly interacted with the candidates. The interviews were designed to explore the participants’ vision, mission, and commitment to the development of Perpusnas. The selection committee assigned weighted scores from all stages—portfolio, article, and interview. The evaluation results were then submitted to the Head of Perpusnas to serve as the final consideration in selecting the chosen officials.
With the completion of all activities, the evaluation results from the selection committee are now in the hands of the Head of Perpusnas. This transparent and comprehensive selection process is expected to produce Senior and Junior Officials who possess not only excellent competence but also high integrity. The appointment of these new officials is anticipated to lead Perpusnas toward a more advanced digital era and enhanced public service.
