[Reboan Seminar x Cerdas Level Up] Conquering the Publishing Gate: Strategies for Penetrating National Journals

The Department of Studies, Achievements, and Academic Himaka Fikom Unpad held a Reboan x Cerdas Level Up Workshop on Wednesday (12/062024) in the Oemmi Abdurahman Room, Dean’s Building, Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran. The workshop was attended by lecturers and students from the Library and Information Science Study Program.

The theme raised at this event was Strategies for Penetrating National Journals with a focus on discussing the systematics of journal writing in accordance with the guidelines for publishing scientific journals nationally. The speakers at this event, namely Mr. Dr. Rully Khairull Anwar, and Mrs. Evi Nursanti Rukmana, M.I.Kom., are Lecturers of the Library and Information Science Study Program at Fikom Unpad. The speakers presented this event in an interesting and informative manner guided by the MC and moderator, namely Arroyya Nur Safitri as staff from the Department of Studies, Achievements, and Academic Himaka Fikom Unpad.

In the first session, the material was explained directly by Mr. Dr. Rully Khairull Anwar, regarding the systematics of journal writing starting from what parts must be in the journal being reviewed by the author, the sequence of journal writing chapters in accordance with national journal writing guidelines, the flow of journal registration consisting of registration to journal publication, to the criteria for writing journals in accordance with the guidelines of national scientific journal publishers.

Furthermore, the second session continued with a workshop by Mrs. Evi Nursanti Rukmana M.I.Kom., by first explaining the journal writing process starting from the pre-writing, writing, and post-writing stages. The speaker then appointed two students to explain which parts are the chapter stages of scientific journals based on the previous presentation.

The event was closed with a question and answer session about the systematics of journal writing to the two lecturers. Finally, this event is expected to provide results where students, especially Library and Information Science Study Program students, can increase and improve their understanding of the systematics of journal writing in accordance with national journal publishing guidelines.
