SPPL Team from Library and Information Science Program Fikom Unpad Wins Best Mock-Up at Liblicious Epicentrum 2026 Through the Innovation of Interactive Box ‘LITERAKSI’

Jatinangor — Thursday, May 21, 2026. A team of students from the Library and Information Science Program at the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran, has won the Best Mock-Up award at the Liblicious competition, part of the Epicentrum FIKOM Unpad 2026 event series. The award was claimed by a team called Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Literasi (SPPL), consisting of Nizam Maris Fadhil Hisan, Najwa Syifa Risyaputri, and Mustika Agustina, all members of the class of 2023.

Liblicious is an annual competition organized by Epicentrum FIKOM Unpad and is open to all students. This year, the competition centered on the theme of library collection development in support of literacy programs for the protection of children from bullying. Registration was open from March 17 to April 28, 2026, with the competition day held on May 20 and the awarding night on May 21, 2026, at the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran.

Team SPPL came together in late March 2026, shortly after the Eid al-Fitr holiday, growing out of an informal conversation among the three members who had already been considering joining the competition. After extensive discussions to align their ideas with the competition theme, the team decided to develop an interactive box collection called LITERAKSI. The box was designed to introduce children to the concept of bullying, foster empathy, celebrate diversity, and build emotional literacy — with the goal of raising awareness so that children neither become perpetrators nor fail to recognize when they themselves are victims.

In developing their proposal, the SPPL team visited Pustakalana Children’s Library in Bandung, a children’s library actively running programs such as weekly storytelling sessions, school visits, and a kids corner. The visit broadened the team’s understanding of how meaningful collaboration is in bringing literacy programs to life. The team also received guidance from Ibu Wina Erwina, a lecturer from the Library and Information Science Program, who provided direction on crafting an engaging presentation — from how to open with impact to prioritizing content within time constraints. It was through this mentoring session that the idea emerged to build a physical prototype of LITERAKSI as a tangible mock-up of their concept.

The team’s journey was not without its challenges. All three members had to balance their participation with academic commitments including research proposal writing and job training, while also completing the entire program proposal and presentation in English. Despite these obstacles, the experience proved highly rewarding, from gaining new insights to receiving direct feedback from the judges, Ibu Evi, Ibu Ratih, and Bapak Ruby.

Team SPPL extended their gratitude to everyone who supported them throughout the process, especially Ibu Wina Erwina for her invaluable guidance, their families and friends, particularly the Askaraertha PSI 2023 family, as well as all the organizers and participants of Liblicious Epicentrum 2026 who made the event a success.
