TANJUNGSARI-On Sunday, December 15, 2024, a group of students from the Library and Information Science Study Program, known as Artefiera, held a gallery event as part of their final project for the Public Relations for Information Institutions course. The event took place offline at the Ipoeng HP Art Gallery in collaboration with the Chevy Art Studio. The venue is located in the Panorama Housing Complex in Cinanjung, Tanjungsari, Sumedang, West Java. It was attended by a total of 11 visitors and 19 committee members from the 2023 cohort.
The Ipoeng HP Art Gallery is an independent studio gallery managed by a talented artist and designer of Indonesian currency and stamps, Ipoeng Heri Purnomo. Meanwhile, the Chevy Art Studio is another independent gallery managed by an artist named Chevy Sofhian Sourry. Ipoeng and Chevy are neighbors in the Panorama Housing Complex who both share a passion for painting. As such, they independently manage their studio galleries, using their living rooms to display their paintings. The Artefiera event itself was an exhibition of paintings from the Ipoeng HP Art Gallery in collaboration with the Chevy Art Studio. It featured a workshop and a joint painting session held at Ipoeng’s studio, with the concept of unifying the works of both artists.
The event began with an opening by the Master of Ceremony (MC), Hisyam Ariz Saptyana, followed by a welcome speech from the Project Officer, Ernanda Khoirotunnisa. The event continued with remarks from the two lecturers of the Public Relations for Information Institutions course, Dr. Elnovani Lusiana S.Sos., M. Si., and Fitri Perdana, M.I.Kom. The opening concluded with a speech from the Head of the Library and Information Science Study Program, Dr. Rd. Hj. Funny Mustikasari Elita, M.Si.
After the opening session and welcome speeches, the event proceeded with a joint painting workshop attended by 11 participants and 7 committee members. The workshop was held from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM local time.

Participants attended the painting workshop
The art exhibition itself officially opened at 1:05 PM WIB. After a break for prayer and lunch, both artists provided feedback to the participants. This was followed by a presentation of Ipoeng’s design work, including currency and stamps, and a short tour of the displayed paintings with explanations of their underlying meanings. The event concluded with an evaluation of the exhibition and workshop by the committee, along with Ipoeng and Chevy, followed by a joint photo session.
The goal of this gallery event was not only to fulfill the final exam requirements but also to serve as an effort by Library and Information Science students to promote galleries as institutions that are part of GLAM (Gallery, Library, Archive, Museum). Ipoeng HP Art Gallery and Chevy Art Studio were chosen as the venues due to their strategic location, accessibility to the wider community, and a consistent target audience—the people living in the surrounding area.
Through this gallery event, it is hoped that galleries, as part of the GLAM sector, can continue to improve their public image by reaching all levels of society. This can be achieved, in part, by intensifying promotional efforts to attract people to visit galleries and become regular patrons, thus helping to preserve these cultural institutions within the community.
