Bali-October 5-6, 2024. “One Voice for Unpad Hockey!” was the motto championed by Winny Putri Alifia Mawardy, a student of the Library and Information Science program at the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Padjadjaran University. Together with the Unpad Hockey Unit team, Winny successfully secured First Place in the Women’s Team category at the prestigious 9th Bali Hockey Festival 2024, which was held at Banteng Field in Badung, Bali.
This achievement is not just a victory in a sports competition, but also a testament to the commitment of Fikom Unpad students in achieving non-academic accomplishments. Winny stated that the tournament was a significant moment in her life and academic journey. “I want to do things that are productive, beneficial, and make me proud—things that can become cherished moments to remember,” she said.
Unlike most students who are driven by external factors, Winny relies more on internal motivation. She believes that every step she takes must be meaningful, not just for herself, but also for those around her and her beloved alma mater. She also thanked all the members of the Unpad Hockey Unit who have been a vital part of her journey. “Without the team, my journey to becoming a champion might not have been this strong or this meaningful,” Winny said gratefully.
Winny and the Unpad Hockey Team
Through this achievement, Winny has become an inspiration for her fellow students, especially in the Library and Information Science Study Program. She demonstrates that success in the non-academic world can be achieved without neglecting her responsibilities as a student. Her strong spirit, dedication, and principles make Winny the face of a generation of Unpad students who are productive, balanced, and inspiring.
