Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran, new students participate in the faculty-level New Student Admissions (PMB) event entitled Dialogue 2022, which will be held starting Thursday (25/8/22). One of the events on the first day of the 2022 Dialogue is a series of study programs from the Library and Information Science Study Program.

This activity took place at the Auditorium of the Postgraduate Building Floor 1, which was opened by Fitri Perdana, S.Sos., M.I.Kom, as the Master of Ceremony. The study program greets new students starting with an introduction to the study program, which includes an introduction to the vision and mission, study program profiles, lecturer profiles, academic staff profiles, international and national cooperation activities, accreditation, awards, and journals managed by the study program.
The series continued with introducing the study program student association, namely the Information and Library Science Student Association (Himaka), starting from the organizational structure, activities, and fields of activity. After that, the event continued with guardianship sessions for new students with guardian lecturers. Guardian lecturers are academic supervisors who can be considered second parents on campus. Dr. Ute Lies Siti Khadijah, M.Si., the Head of the Study Program, said, “Please always talk about it, okay, if there’s anything. Don’t let academic problems and anything else hang on your own. You can tell and talk about the story with the guardian lecturer, who is like your parents here.” New students are expected to be able to communicate openly with guardian lecturers.

This introductory activity is expected to introduce the Unpad Library and the Information Science Study Program broadly to new students. In addition, new students, through this activity, can strengthen friendships with lecturers to create a conducive academic atmosphere. (Tsabitah and Rifat)
