Library and Information Science Students of Padjadjaran University Become Delegates at Gen Darling Fest 2026

Bandung — Thursday, February 12, 2026. Students from the Library and Information Science Study Program at Universitas Padjadjaran have achieved a notable accomplishment by participating in the Gen Darling Fest: Generasi Sadar Lingkungan Festival, held on Thursday, February 12, 2026. The event served as the culminating program of the Gen-Darling Movement 2025 and functioned as an appreciation forum for participants who actively voiced environmental issues through the Eco Espos channel.

The festival brought together Gen-Darling Movement participants from several cities, including Bandung, Yogyakarta, Solo, Semarang, and Kudus. From Bandung, the delegation team named Suja—comprising university students, including those from the Library and Information Science Study Program—was selected to attend the event. The team consists of Shelvi Nur Awaliyah, Amalia Roudhotul Jannah, Delfin Gusti Wanda, Reginawati Silalahi, and Wiwit Ari Nurjanah, who were recognized for their active contributions in writing environmental issues on Eco Espos.

The event took place at De Tjolomadoe, Colomadu, Karanganyar, Central Java, and featured several inspiring speakers. During the Eco Leader Conference session, participants gained direct insights from the Pandawara Group and the Program Officer of Bakti Lingkungan Djarum Foundation regarding environmental awareness movements that create tangible impacts in society.

The organization of Gen Darling Fest aimed to recognize participants of the Gen-Darling Movement 2025 who have consistently raised environmental issues through written works. The involvement of Library and Information Science students in this event highlights the strategic role of information science in supporting environmental literacy and the dissemination of knowledge to the public.

The series of activities began with an Urban Farming Class, where participants practiced hydroponic planting techniques, followed by the educational and inspiring Eco Leader Conference. The event concluded with an awarding session as a form of appreciation for teams actively contributing to the Eco Espos channel.

During the awarding session, Team Suja from Gen-Darling Movement Bandung successfully received the “Green Story Crafter Team” award. This achievement is expected to motivate students, particularly those from the Library and Information Science Study Program, to continue contributing to the strengthening of environmental literacy and advocacy through written works.
