The Bogor City Reading Ambassador Selection 2024 was successfully held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at the Bima Arya Auditorium, Diarpus of Bogor City, from 08:00 to 14:00 WIB. The event, organized by the Archives and Library Office, featured a Grand Final as the culmination of an intensive selection series.
Rifat Syafaat, a student of the Library and Information Science program who was crowned the 1st place winner, shared his main reason for participating in this event was to apply the knowledge gained from his studies and make a positive impact on society. “My motivation is to become a more beneficial individual,” he said.
The rigorous selection process Rifat underwent began with administration and documentation, followed by a six-day quarantine involving various activities such as training materials, open interviews, innovation presentations, and grooming classes. The culmination was the Grand Final that determined the winner. The requirements for participating in this competition included being physically and mentally healthy, free from illegal drugs, unmarried, having broad knowledge, particularly in literacy, good communication skills, understanding the role of a Reading Ambassador and the importance of libraries, actively participating in literacy activities, and having a piece of work.
“I enjoyed every stage, from quarantine to the Grand Final, and gained a lot of new insights,” said Rifat. He also hopes that his achievement can inspire other students, especially juniors, to continue making positive contributions to society.
Rifat also expressed his hope to further demonstrate his potential in the academic field and that what he has gained from his study program can be a blessing for the program itself. “I hope I can inspire and benefit others and society,” he said.
