Saturday (15/10/2022), FISIP Protocol University of Jember held the “Webinars and Public Speaking Competition.” Silkvi Kheir Rahma, a Library and Information Science Study Program student, the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Padjadjaran University, won third place in the Master of Ceremony Category.
The competition had held in a hybrid way. Selection starts from preliminary to final. During the qualification, participants will have asked to create a video that is up to 5 minutes long and upload it to social media. Furthermore, the top five with the highest score in each category followed the public speaking showcase of the talent that will be held face-to-face at the University of Jember.
“We joined the News Anchor and Master of Ceremony competitions because we wanted to gain experience and deepen public speaking skills that are relevant to courses in our faculty,” said both of them in a statement released to the Unpad Media Channel.
Silkvi has made a lot of preparations to join the national-level Public Speaking competition. One of them is to improve public speaking skills. Silkvi is also a member of KPM Unpad, and she admits to the public speaking skills she acquired after joining KPM.
“When I was a fresh student, I realized I wasn’t good at public speaking. Then I decided to join KPM Unpad to learn and improve my speaking skills. I decided to go private,” said Silkvi.
